One: An Introduction Into Bespoke Tailoring

I will guide you through the key tailoring stitches, plus how and where to use them, how to make up a handmade buttonhole, what tools and books you’ll need to get started and how to strike out a coat pattern adding inlays.

Two: Canvas Construction

I will guide you through the ‘Canvas Construction’ process, teaching you how to make a canvas from scratch, how to pad a canvas and then how to take the darts out of the canvas. I’ll also talk you through different types of canvas and the purpose of the constructed canvas within bespoke tailoring.

Three: Canvassing

I will guide you through the ‘Canvassing’ process, teaching you how to join and baste a tailored canvas to cloth, how to apply a bridle and how to shape a Canvassed forepart.

Four: Jetted Pockets and Flaps

I will guide you through the process of making up jetted pockets and flaps, including how to finish pockets to a professional level.

Five: Out-breast Pockets

I will guide you through the process of making up an out-breast/welt pocket, including how to finish pockets to a professional level.

Six: Facings

I will guide you through the process of drafting facings, cutting them out, basting and machining them onto a forepart and then turning and basting them out to completion.

Seven: Collars

I will guide you through the process of making up and applying both an under collar and top collar to a tailored jacket.

Eight: Sleeves

I will guide you through the process of making up tailored sleeves and inserting them into a tailored jacket. I will also talk through sleeve theory, covering tailoring terms, such as crown height, sleeve pitch, plus how and where to distribute fullness.
